Monday Funday?
Workers at clean desks tend to outperform those dealing with clutter
Maybe i’m crazy, but as a business owner I actually look forward to Mondays. A lot of emails sent on Fridays that need answers are typically solved Monday and we’re better able to put the pieces together for the week. At Breezy we also have a company zoom meeting every Monday at 10am to catch up, see how everyone’s weekend was and to lay out the week’s plans.
If our work goes unnoticed, it’s usually a good sign.
We’ve had a nice little growth spurt this September and it feels really great. The pandemic did a real number on our sales - as it did to most everyone - but now we’re finally approaching the pre-pandemic numbers we want so badly to finally eclipse. We have rebuilt much stronger than before with way more wisdom of our industry and how to manage any growing pains without anyone really knowing our struggle and that is fine. We put our best foot forward and take whatever comes out way in stride because we actually like what we do. Looking back on all the years in this industry, one thing I know is that it is mostly thankless, and that is also totally fine. We prefer to keep our heads down and do the work because after over a decade in this industry, all you have is your reputation based on the thousands of hours worked. So for that reason, we’re proud. We’re humble, and we’re ready for whatever comes our way. All you can do is your best every day and when you come up short, you have the next day to try again.
So this Monday is all about onboarding our new clients and that is a good feeling. It’s always a bit nerve racking in the beginning, but the only way we can truly shine (yes pun intended) is by demonstrating long term consistency. It takes how long it takes. And that is pretty much how life goes. Anything truly worth it takes time. An overnight success rarely happens overnight, and even then it’s usually short term. So to everyone out there just doing the daily grind of showing up consistently - cheers to you and happy Monday. May your week bring you closer to your goals.
